Auto Insurance Claims: Hit and run accident, uninsured motorist coverage, model pontiac

Question
Hello Claims Guy. I live in Phoenix,Az and last night a car was stolen and driven through my front yard and totaled my car which was parked in the drive way at my residence. The driver left the scene on foot. My car is an older model Pontiac with liability insurance. If the owner of the stolen car has insurance, can I have them pay for my vehicle? Sincerely, Jared C.

Answer
Probably no, because they would only pay you if their customer was liable.  So in a few states, if their customer left the keys in the car, he might be liable for the actions of the thief.  But in most states, even this would not apply.

If you have uninsured motorist coverage on your policy, this would cover your damages.  Call your agent.
