Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 2001 Acura 3.2 CL - Cold for 5 minutes then Warm/Hot, pressure switch, refrigerant

Question
Hi, I'm so glad i found this site, i'm going nuts!

Vehicle: 2001 Acura 3.2 CL 140,000mi

I will try to keep this short. About a year ago I noticed that my auto A/C was blowing warmer than normal so I took it upon myself to add refrigerant from autozone. I think I may have over filled it with refrigerant and/or oil. Since then I dealt with it since it wasnt so bad. My compressor was making more noise than normal (due to overfill) but it cooled ok. The winter came and all was forgotten about.
Now when this summer 09 started I noticed that after about 5-10 minutes of driving the A/C would go from very cold to hot. The only way I could get it cold again was to floor the gas on the highway so it downshifted hard and the A/C stayed cold again for another 15 minutes or so. I would have to keep doing this.
I then took it to a repair place where they hooked it up to a refrigerant machine which evacuated the system and refilled it. It was colder than ever for about 3 days and the same symptoms returned. I took it back to them and they performed the service again. This time they said a lot of oil came out of my system which was expected. This time my A/C was very cold for about 2 weeks. Then the problem returned even worse now.
Currently when I first start my car for the day it is very cold for about 5-10 minutes. Then it gets progressively warmer until it blows hot air. Now, even trying to rev the engine or flooring it, it will not get cool again for any reason unless I turn off the car and let it sit for a couple of hours.
It seems to me like either something is getting clogged after about 5 minutes or something is freezing up? Someone told me perhaps I have debris that is clogging the pressure switch or drier?
I'm not sure. But it is currently in the mid 90's everyday and driving without A/C is very challenging. Please help!

Answer
HI Will

Its hard to tell without the pressures.  But I would start by checking your compressor when it stops cooling.  See if compressor turns off or if it stays on.  If it turns off then either your high pressure switch or thermostat is turning it off.  If it is running and no cool then you must check pressures because you could have your expansion valve clogged up and it may destroy your compressor.  Let me know the pressures when it is running and when it turns off.
