Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C not working, fan selector, blower motor

Question
I drive a 1996 Chevy S10 2.2L. When I initially start my a/c nothing happens. If I disconnect the blower motor, the compressor will start. Then with the compressor on I reconnect the blower motor and the a/c will run and blow cold air on high only. If you adjust speeds from high, everything shuts off. We have replaced the blower motor, blower resistor, fan selector switch, and blower relay. Please help! Frustrated and desperate...

Answer
Hi Nate

Next time you start the engine turn on ac normally and check for power and ground on compressor coil.  Then do what you do to get it to start and then move the switch again and see what happens with respect to the clutch coil. Try  to get back to me with as much detail as you can.
