Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Nissan Maxima Heating Problem, nissan maxima, vavle

Question
My Nissan maxima 96 has no heat. Im trying to find the vavle inside the hood that would allow me to control it. so i can get some warm air inside the car.

Answer
Omar,
In the maxima, there is no "valve" so to speak to turn to allow heat to get into the car. It is a direct connection with hoses. What allows coolant to pass through those hoses and into the heater core is your thermostat. When was the last time you replaced your thermostat? Typically they are done about every 60-75000 miles. The wax in some break down much earlier than that, others last much longer. But if the wax on your thermostat is no longer expanding with the heat and allowing it to open, that could be your culprit.
But that is just one possible problem. If you could go a bit deeper into your description, I may be able to help more. Such as... If you turn on the A/C, does it blow cold (ac cold, not ambient air cold) after you run the a/c and switch to heat does the temperature change? If so... by how many degrees (approximate)
Does your vehicle have the Automatic a/c-heater system (knobs and a display) or the manual system with the sliding bars?
After you run the vehicle for a period of time, (15-20 minutes) does the temperature change, again approximately how much.
Has your engine temperature gauge been reading any higher than it typically does?

If you can answer these questions for me I may be able to help a bit more.
Thank you for your question, I hope I was of some assistance, if I can be of any more, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you again and good luck in everything.
