Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Water in floorboard, 1997 buick skylark, buick skylark

Question
I have a 1997 Buick Skylark, and I had someone change the heater core and now when I run my ait, water goes in the passenger floorboard and some in the driver floorboard also, but not as bad, Where or why is the water there?

Answer
Sandra,
What I believe happened...
The evaporator and heater core are contained within the same housing. On the bottom of this housing is a drain tube that is designed to route the condensation that develops on your evaporator outside of the vehicle through the floor board. I believe that when they re-installed your housing, they failed to put this drain tube back in place. This is not a major item that you cannot do yourself. All you have to do is locate it and reinstall it by pushing it back onto the drain "nipple". But I do believe that it is probably missing and you may have to get a new one to replace it.
If you put it back on yourself, take care not to snap the "nipple" off of the housing. And make certain that it is ran to the outside of the car. But if you paid someone to do this repair, this should be recognized as a failure on their part and they should supply the piece and the labor.
Thank you for your question, I hope I was of some assistance. If so, please remember to rate this answer. If I can do anything further either now in this process or in the future, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you again and good luck in everything.
