Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: very little air movement, buick lesabre, harness connector

Question
QUESTION: i have a 93 buick lesabre and i have very little air movement on any setting heat or cool inside the car. i have lightly power washed the air conditioning condenser and didn't bend any fins but it still barely helped. the fan speed switch works you can hear the motor speed up and down when you change the speed setting but even on max speed if you put your hand against the vent you can barely feel it. the air flow is consistent though even though it is poor. i have never had the ventilation under the dash apart either. thank you for your time.

ANSWER: Anthony,
I understand that your fan speed changes as per where you set the switch. But if you change the mode... does it change where the air is pushed from? IE: dash, defrost, floor etc?
I ask this because I believe your problem lies in your ducting doors somewhere. One or more of your doors are not opening/closing fully when it should. This could be caused by an actuator going bad, your head unit not sending the right signals, or your vaccuum harness connector not changing the valves aa it should. Also, does it act like this from the startup? Or only after it has been run with the a/c on for a period of time?
If you can answer these couple questions for me, I will lead you to where it leads me.
Thank you for the question, and I await your response.

QUESTION: when i change it to defrost it works a little better but not much, and yes it does act like this from the beginning.

Answer
Anthony,
Your door actuators are operated by a system of vaccuum lines and actuators. You said that when you switched the mode to defrost, the symptom lessens a bit. I am looking at your vaccuum diagram now, and according to the layout, your defrost actuators are closest to the vaccuum source connection in the vaccuum harness connector. That information in turn leads me to believe that you have an issue with your vaccuum source or your harness connector itself, that is not allowing a full vaccuum to get pulled on the doors in order to open/close them. I would highly recommend that you take this in to a reputable shop and have them diagnose the problem. They should have the proper equipment and knowledge. This can tend to become an in-depth repair for the simple fact that 70% of the time it involves removal of the dashboard.
Thank you for your question, I hope that I was of some assistance, though I wish I could do more. If I can do anything further now or in the future, do not hesitate to ask. Thank you again, good luck in everything, and please remember to rate this answer.
