Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: ac blows hot, compressor clutch, zone unit

Question
i checked compressor, freon gages equal pressure, blend accuator working, changed climate switches, everything getting cold under hood but stills blows hot,do u have any other ideas... thank you

Answer
Corey,
Not quite understanding. You hooked up a low and high side gauge and the pressures were equalized? But your low side line is getting cold under the hood? I don't understand this becasue it is an impossibility. With your compressor running, you should have your low side gauge reading roughly 30-45 psig, while your high side will read 150-225 psig fluctuating. If this is not happening... then your compressor clutch is not engaging and turning your compressor itself. If your clutch is engaging and turning your compressor, and your gauges read equal pressure (or relatively close) then that tells me your valves inside the compressor are shot, and this in turn would not allow your line to be cold. Both your high and low lines would be roughly the same temperature.

If you could please clarify and do a follow-up onthis question I may be able to assist you better. In the follow-up, include your high and low side pressure, along with the ambient temp. outside the car when you take them. Whether or not your compressor is engaging. (you should see the front plate spinning as well as the pulley). The year, make, model, engine, and the edition (LE, LS, GT, etc.) And whether you have the manual or automatic type a/c, as well as if it is a dual zone unit. As well as any specific information on what is going on.

Thank you for your question, and I await your follow-up.
