Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: AC motor question..., blower motor resistor, alternator problems

Question
My alternator overcharged my battery (I've replaced both) but my AC stopped blowing at the same time this happened. Is it possible that the alternator/battery caused the blower motor to burn-out, or is it more likely the wiring? How much might this repair cost, and if I buy the parts, how easy would it be to do it myself?

Thank-you!
~Amanda

Answer
Amanda,
Anything is possible, but it is not very likely. If you had battery alternator problems, I would check the blower motor fuse before anything else. I believe that you will find this to be the fault. If not... you may have a fusible link somewhere in the wiring that blew in order to protect your blower motor/resistor block. If you send me the year/make/model I will look on any wiring diagrams I have, to see if you have one in your system somewhere. Also, please let me know if you have the manual a/c system or the automatic a/c system, this makes some small differences sometimes.
So, as I said, check your fuses first, and if they are good, then I will be more than happy to help you in any way that I can.
I hope this helps a bit. Thank you for the question. If I can do anything furher now or in the future, please le tme know. Good luck in everything.
