Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: climate control for 2004 chevy truck, calibration period, dual climate

Question
I just installed a new dual climate control cluster, it is stuck on vent.Do i need to reprogram it or what? I have tried everything.

Answer
Kevin,
I looked through my literature, being that I didn't know what type of truck you were asking about, I looked under the silverado 1500. They should be all relatively similar though.
What I was reading was that while it was being installed the key must be off. I have to assume you had it in off, becasue not too many individuals would try to replace it with the key on, and after installation you were supposed to start the truck for 1 minute and NOT touch the controls. This is the calibration period the control head needs to adjust itself. It said that if you adjusted the controls during this period that it would operate incorrectly.

My recommendation is to remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for 15 seconds, reinstall it. Start the vehicle and do not make any adjustments while it calibrates (40 seconds to a minute). This should allow it to recalibrate and have it blowing correctly.

I hope this helps a bit. Thank you for the question and good luck in everything. If I can do anything further, just let me know.
If you found this at all helpful, please remember to reate this answer.
