Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C Blower, 97 GMC, 1500, blower motor resistor, fuse block

Question
The high speed setting quit working changed out the switch. did not fix? I just hot wired it straight with a 30A fuse from an empty spot at the fuse block under dash, but would rather get it fixed correctly. Also, there isn't enough air coming out of the all the vents. This includes the heater, defroster and dash settings and this was a problem even before the high setting stopped working.

Answer
Hey Bob,

Forgive the lateness of my answer to you, but I looked up the schematic for your truck and to fix the high speed setting properly you will need to replace the blower motor relay in the underhood fuse block. About there not being enough air coming from the vents that sounds like the blower motor resistor and that should be located on the underhood firewall passenger side where the plastic covering for the a/c evaporator.
