Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: air, rubber tubing, drain valve

Question
Hi,David,
My question is my air runs sometimes but the water from the aircondition  does not run out under the car. why and can i fix it

Answer
Gwen,
Absolutely you can fix it. If you take it to a shop, they will root around and charge you about 100 bucks to do what I am about to tell you. And come up with about 600 dollars worth of stuff that "needs to be done." You know how they work.
Coming off of the evaporator/blower motor housing under the passenger side dash, there is a piece of rubber tubing. This piece of tubing runs from a drain valve on the housing, through the floor panel and out underneath your car. I am guessing that yours is still connected at the floor panel but has come off of the evaporator housing, otherwise you would at least get a little drippage. All you have to do is reconnect this hose to the housing, and make certain it is ran outside the car.
I also recommend you do this rather soon. Continued use with it like this could cause the padding under your carpet to begin to mildew, as well as enhance the probability for your floor boards to start rusting.
I hope I was of a little help. If I can do anything more, do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for the question and good luck in everything.
