Question
to charge the system everything i have read say's find the low pressure line (
the bigger one). this is fine but in this car there are only 2 ports both in the
smaller line, can you conferm that, Chevy did not put a charge port on the
low pressure side?

thx

Answer
Nancy,
Chevy and every other car manufacturer are required by section 609 of the Federal Clean Air Act to install both a low pressure port and a high pressure port on every vehicle. So I am certain your tahoe has both. Unless you are a second owner of this vehicle, and the previous owner did some serious rigging on it, which I highly doubt.

Your low side line is the larger line of the two, but your service port will be smaller than the one on your high side. Typically it is located on the passenger side of your engine compartment near your strut tower. But if I recall correctly on the 2000 tahoe, if you have the vortec engine, your service prts are directly on the compressor manifold itself. (At the top of the compressor. The compressor is the highest component driven by the belt on that model. And rather than color coding the caps, I also believe this year chevy made them both black in color. Your low side will have an L on the top of the cap, and your high side will have an H. If they aren't labeled or are missing the caps, the high side port is wider in diameter than the low.

I hope I was able to help just a bit, and if I can do more now or in the future please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for the question.
