Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Winstar A/C, 2003 ford winstar, hi way

Question
I have a 2003 ford winstar that has quit cooling properly. The A/C Gets fairly cool at Hi-way speed but when you are at an idle the A/C does not blow cold air. The A/C unit has not been worked on with the exception of having the Freon checked the Pressure reading were 80 low side and 185 high side. Thanks in advance for any help you might give me.

Answer
HELLO BRUCE,IF THAT IS THE READINGS AS THE COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING YOU HAVE LOST THE PUMPING STRENGTH OF THE COMPRESSOR. IT SHOULD BE 20-30PSI-LOW//185-210PSI-HIGH SIDE @1000RPM IN IDLE. RECOMMEND REPLACING THE COMPRESSOR ,ORIFICE LINE,ACCUMULATOR. CHECK WITH A A/C SHOP FOR AND ESTIMATE.

GOOD LUCK,DAVIDT
