Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 91 Prelude A/C intermittently shuts off, intermitant, power source

Question
My A/C fan intermittenly quits blowing anything, like it is losing power. The radio (aftermarket Sony Explode), will also die along with it. At first, it seemed to only occur when I had it on high, but now, if I turn the A/C fan on at all, it will kill both the A/C, and the stereo after a few minutes or sometimes seconds of operation. The stereo works fine if the A/C is not turned on. I tore apart the console and shook alll kinds of wires and tapped on things and couldn't get it to duplicate. It also seems to happen more when its hotter out. (Go figure!) I don't have a good wiring diagram that shows what the stereo and the A/C system have in common, other than the location of the controls in the console. Please help!

Thanks!
Jason

Answer
HELLO JASON, YOU NEED TO LOCATE BOTH HOT MAIN LEADS AND GROUND WIRING FOR THOSE TWO ITEMS. SOMEWHERE IN THAT WIRING IS A INTERMITANT BREAK. IT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE SHARING THE SAME GROUND WIRE.START WITH THE BLOWER FIRST BECAUSE THERE ARE ONLY TWO WIRES THAT CONTROL THE BLOWER-HOT& GROUND..FOLLOW THOSE LEADS FIRST. IT`S WEIRD BECAUSE THEY HAVE SEPERATE FUSES AND DON`T SHARE THE SAME POWER SOURCE. WHAT YOU COULD DO IS THE REVERSE.TAKE THE POWER AWAY FROM THE RADIO AND SEE IF THE BLOWER WORKS OK.

GOOD LUCK,DAVIDT

PS. CHECK IF THAT RADIO IS WIRED CORRECTLY TOO...
