Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Air conditioner not very cold..., mazda 626, freon

Mazda 626 w/auto trans - a/c stopped working off & on. Found and replaced bad relay. Runs but seems to cycle on & off. Check freon level and it was fine. Also, when a/c runs, car seems to shift up and down and rev strangely. Didn't know if all issues could be related?

Hello Scott,Mazdas run a thermostatic controller that has a
probe that goes into the evaporator.Sounds like it may be defective.THat part is only available from the dealer.So have it checked by a/c pros first.The idle on the car is fluctuating because the a/c is cycling on& off.They have an idle valve that kicks up the idle when the compressor comes on to prevent the car from stalling.
