I have a 1994 suburban the front air blows nice and cold air. The rear doesnt blow cold. The heat all works like it should.I took the rear panel apart, I got to the metering device and the evap. coil.the evap. is cool.I held the tube and as it warmed up I could here the metering device opening and closing. (I think it seems to be working)At the comp. where the front and rear suction line are the front is cold and the rear is not. Thanks for the help.

Answer -
Hello Danny,Sounds like either the system is undercharged or the rear orifice tube is plugged-up with debris.Inspect those areas first.

Good luck, davidt

Answer
Hello Danny,Check the a/c pressure. It should be 25 to 30psi on the low side and 190 to 205psi on the high side.
If it`s too under charge rear rear unit will starve freon. The front unit is closer to the compressor so it will get colder first. The smaller line coming into the rear evap.contains the orifice tube. There is a connecting fitting for those lines that needs to separated to remove the o-tube.The system has to be evacuated first. The line could be a standard fitting or the garder spring lock type that can only be separated with a spring lock tool.

good luck, davidt
