Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 96 s10 blazer, s10 blazer, r134

Hello i have 96 blazer 4.3.  last summer my ac compressor was turning on but i had a leak in the system which all the r134 leaked out.  This year the compressor will not turn on.  is it beacuse the system is empty or could be somethign else?  please help......thanks.

Hello Tony,Chevy S-10 have common leaking areas.If you have the receipt from the last repair see if the evaporator was changed.The a/c compressor is also a trouble item. Pressure gauges need to be hooked-up to read how much freon is in the system first. If the pressure is below 80psi there is a pressure switch that prevents the compressor from coming on if the freon level is too low. It`s like a safe guard. Have a certifed a/c shop check for freon psi and possible leaks first and go from there.
