Question -
I have heard several version of fixing the clutch.  Some shops say, it may just be a switch, some say the clutch.  Are the two parts included in a new assembly if I replace it.  Which leads me to Q # 2.  The clutch is $89 and it requires 2 tools to do it myself.  A clutch puller, and a clutch installer.  Both cost 35 each.  Is it worth it? How big of a job is it to do yourself ?

Answer -
If your mechanically inclined you can do it yourself. On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being extremly difficult) this would be a 2.

Before you remove the old clutch from the compressor, Measure the air gap between the clutch and the front of the compressor and make sure it is the same measurement when you install the new clutch assembly.

Answer
No switch in the clutch.

Perform this test:

1. Unplug the 2 wire electrical connector on the front of the compressor.

2. Put a ground wire on one terminal on the compressor and 12 volts battery voltage on the other connector on the compressor and see if the clutch engages.
