Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Vent issues on a 2002 Jeep Wrangler, jeep wrangler, vacuum line

Question
Hello -

Thanks for your time, recently in my Jeep I only get Air/Heat out of the windshield vents - even if I switch to floor , dash  or the dual zone ones.

Also I seem to get some water in my jeep after a good rain , trunk space and passenger side floor .. someone told me to remove the panel on the roof and check for leaves , dirt or junk in the air intake and think about putting a scoop over it  ??

Confused Jeepguy

Answer
Anytime the air will only go to the defrost level is an indication of a broken vacuum line from the engine compartment thru the firewall and in under the dash. Look for a broken line.

You may have an evaporator drain that is plugged up.

Look around on the firewall from the engine side for a small rubber tube and insert a plastic straw up inside this tube and see if a massive amount of water comes out.
