Question - I got a used blower motor control module from the junk yard for $75.00. It did not have the same ACDelco numbers, but I was told it came out of a 96 Olds 98. I installed it yesterday and it fix the problem of the blower motor running with car off. Today I drove to the store and it shut off when I turn off the car. Then I took my wife to the dentist which is a longer trip (25 mile) and when we got there and I turn off the car the blower motor keep running. My question is why would it be ok  and than fail again? Could there but some other problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

With the ignition off the blower motor run at high speed. I think its the relay at fault.  If it is the relay could you tell me where it is located. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer -
You need a BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR. Usually mounted near the blower motor. Buy a new one so you will know what your looking for.

There is no blower motor resistor on the fire wall near the blower motor. Also the blower motor connector plug reads 12vdc with the ignition off. The fan control on the dash has no effect when the ignition is on and the car is running. I still think there must be a relay that is closed which is providing the 12vdc to the blower motor.
Thanks for your help.

Answer -
That is why you NEVER EVER buy JUNK from the JUNK yard. .

Answer
There are only 2 other possibilities but they are EXTREMLY rare. There is a relay located UNDER HOOD, PASSENGER SIDE, REAR ENGINE AREA, UPPER FIREWALL, MOUNTED IN RELAY PANEL and a possible shorted or open diode at the compressor clutch 2 wire connector. This diode is under the tape up from the connectors so peel back the insulation. You MUST remember in which way the diode is installed when you remove it from the harness to test and or replace it.

The realy and diode as EXTREMLY rae. The cause of your problem in 90% of all cases is the power module.
