Question -
Have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring LXi.
Recently, the fan stopped working in 1,2,3 and only works in 4.

I disassembled the switch and mapped out the nodes using my multimeter.
I then verified the switch to have connectivity in all modes - no indication of failure.

Finally, I jumpered out the connector to mimic the switch positions and had the same issues as with the switch.

From my analysis, the switch works.

What I BELIEVE that leaves is either the motor itself or a relay issue.

I am not sure how to proceed from here.

Please advise.
Answer -
Replace the thermal resistor module for the heat and A/C fan. Available at any parts store.

Looks like a coil of wires on a fibre board.

Tom,
First, thanks for your quick response!

I went to a couple of auto parts stores and they were not able to find the part.

Could you tell me where I might find the part in the car itself?  I could then pull it and take it in.

Joe

Answer
You need a BLOWER MODULE RESISTOR. Check with your local dealer. I checked Autozone at this website and they do not have one. They might be able to order one.
