Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Air conditioning repair, shade tree mechanic, buick roadmaster

Question
Hi,
I have a 1995 Buick Roadmaster with a seized a/c compressor. I
have a used compressor to install, and understand that I need to
replace the orifice tube and accumulator, and flush out the
entire system. Of course I realize I'll need to have the system
recharged at a shop equipped for the job.
As a shade tree mechanic, what do I need to know/do to flush
out the system?
Thanks,
RCH

Answer
THe FIRST thing I need to know is:

1. WHERE did you get the used compressor.

2. How long has it been inoperative ?.

3. Is it compatable to your vehicle ?.

4. Does it accept ALL the wires that were disconnected from your seized compressor to this one ?.

5. Were the inlet and outlet holes on the used compressor PLUGGED with plastic plugs to prevent moisture from getting into the used compressor ?.

I need TRUTHFUL answers to these questons so as to prevent further damage to your system.
