Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: No cooling BUT==, pontiac trans sport, schrader valve

94 Pontiac Trans sport Van 3.1 v-6 The accumulator is really icy cold after I added refrigerant. It did not take a full can. Line going to heater is luke warm. The small canister in front of the evaporator is almost hot. No sign of leaks. Thanks!

Is the compressor cycling ON & OFF or is it just staying ON ?.

If it is just staying ON, Replace the pressure switch located on the accumulator. NO you do NOT have to drain the freon to change the switch. The accumulator part has a schrader valve built into it just like your tire stem where you put air in.
