Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Dodge Ram airconditioning problem, dodge ram, possition

I have a 1998 1500 dodge ram pu.  The AC was working great, then after working great on a hot day, it just stopped.  I played with it for some time.  compressor is still working, the low tube was not cold, but very hot.  I shut the truck off let it set a few and started back up.  It was cold again, after 20 minutes of driving it went from very cold to warm in an instant.  I changed settings, max, defrost, cold, nothing helped.  I turned the controler to the off possition, left it off for 5 minutes, turned it on and instantly was cold again.  I checked the freon pressure on the low side.  It was within normal range.  Im thinking a sensor or bad gate valve.  Any ideas  Thanks,

Could be any number of sensors or controllers. Without having access to the vehicle and performing the various tests a diagnosis is most impossible.


NOTE: Dodge in the late 90's models statrted to have minoe leaks in the evaporator cores that started out exactly as yours is doing until the evap leak became more severe and he evaps had to be replacdee.
