Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C Compressor, air conditioner compressor, expansion valve

Question
I have a 2001 Chevrolet S-10. The air conditioner compressor will not cut off. After the air is on for a while it will freeze up and you have to cut it off to let it thaw out. I have replaced the switch near the evaporator that suppose regulate the compressor. Any suggestions.

Answer
99% of this type of fault is the PRESSURE CYCLING SWITCH.

IF you replaced it it could still be a faulty one OR you could have an expansion valve/orfice tube restriction.

Everything depends on what the LOW and HIGH side pressures are doing.
