Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Air Conditioner in auto does not get cold, compressor cycles, lincoln towncar

Question
Air coditioning in 1998 Lincoln Towncar does not get cold. I checked pressure with guage  --  when compressor cyles(goes on) the pressure drops below 20  - when the compressor shuts off the pressure goes back up to 45. The compressor cycles about every 5 seconds. Do I need a new compressor or is it some other problem??? When I bought the car I had the same problem and they charged the system. The air was OK after that. Then I had a noise coming from the engine - they told me it was the compressor and that they changed the compressor -- the noise went away --  that was at the end of last summer. Now it seems i have the same problem with the air not getting cold!  Could I have a leak in the system or do I still have a bad compressor ??

Answer
Sounds like a leak or a restriction in the orfice tube (expansion valve).

I would discharge the system, replace the Orfice tube (expansion valve), evacuate and recharge the system.

Did they replace the Accumulator (receiver/drier) when they installed the new compressor ?.
