Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Ford Taurus SEL Aircondtioning, ford taurus sel, engine coolant temperature

In my 2002 make Ford Taurus SEL sedan, when I stop the car and at idling speed the engine vibrates abnormally and knocks (at intervals) with the airconditioner on . If I put the drive to neutral while the AC is on, the vibration (and knock) stops. While driving with the AC on there is no vibration or knock. AC cools fine.I bought the car (used) from a used car dealer just 2 days back.

The same car I find has engine coolant temperature guage pointer got stuck between Hot and Cold position.

Can you guide me please?

Without actually HEARING this KNOCK, There is no way I can make a determination as to what it could be. Have a repair facility look at the vehicle.

Either the gage is faulty or the temp sender is faulty or it is supposed to work this way.

Go to another used car lot and find an identical vehicle and see if this vehicle does the same thing.
