Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Recharge AC for Nissan Maxima, nissan maxima, vacuum pump

I was trying to recharge the AC in a 2000 Nissan Maxima. I know I have the right Low port, but the system is not taking the refridgerant. Is the something else I need to?

You need to evacuate the complete A/C system of freon and atmospheric air using a vacuum pump and a set of manifold (A/C) gages and most likely you will need to replace the receiver/drier and the orfice tube/expansion valve BEFORE you can install new freon.
