Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C problem, ford crown vic, reputable facility

Question
The A/C on my 2000 Ford Crown Vic does not work. When I turn the switch on I can hear the compressor clutch engage and then it disengages after about 3 second and it continues to do this as long as the A/C is turned on. From under the hood I can see that the A/C clutch does seem to engage properly. Any idea where I should look for the problem? Thanks!

Answer
This compressor cycling ON and OFF is in most ALL cases due to a loss of refrigerant (freon) from the A/C system due to a leak in the system.

You will need to have a reputable facility diagnose and fix the leak BEFORE freon can be added to the system.
