Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: audi a/c recharge, shrader valve, vacuum pump

Question
I have a 1993 audi 100s. The a/c needs recharged.
Is it recharged at the high pressure, low pressure or at the shrader valve on the compressor. I have access to R 12.

Answer
There is NO SENSE in recharging it as it will only leak out again.

You need to :11. Locate and fix the leak.

2. Use a vacuum pump to evacuate all the air that is in the system BEFORE you can properly recharge it.

Even at this point that your at you have AIR in the A/C system and the system needs to have ALL of the air evacuated OUT before adding freon.

Freon is added at the LOW side port.

You have also lost REFRIGERANT OIL that MUST be replaced or you will be destroy the compressor if you just keep adding freon and no oil.
