Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: a/c, electronic leak detector, r 134a

Question
i have a 2000 dodge durango the a/c is not blowing cool  i was wondering can i bleed the system free of everything through the valve and recharge it with a r 134a can this way.   Or am i asking for more trouble

Answer
Your ASKING for TROUBLE.

Dodge has had an ongoing problem with leaks in their evaporators which causes the freon to leak out.

You will need to install a can of freon and use an electronic leak detector to determine WHERE in the A/C system the leak is coming from.

The bad news is that IF it is the evaporator that is leaking your looking at $800-$900 to replace it and recharge the system.
