Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: air conditioner in 1994 Honda Accord, electronic leak detector, exact knowledge

Question
I am having a problem with the air conditioner in my 1994 Honda accord blowing mostly hot air.

In the past the switch would not stay at the coldest setting, but the a/c seemed to work OK, except for the lowest temperature.

Now the temperature does not cool off when I turn the switch to cool.

The compressor was changed a couple of years ago.

Where should I look for the problem?

Answer
You most likely have a FREON leak in the A/C system of which will require the use of an electronic leak detector to easily locate the leak. Once the leak is located and fixed the system MUST be evacuated of all atmospheric air and the correct amount of freon and refrigerant oil added back into the system.

This operation requires special tools and the EXACT knowledge of how much freon and oil to re-install.
