Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: BELT? SQUEELS WHEN A/C IS ON, aerosol spray, squeels

I have a 95 mitsu mirage 1.8l with 130000 miles on it. The a/c works fine but sometimes and often squeels when it's on, especially while accelerating.  Without seeing it do you think it may be in need of a new belt, which I've been told twice, or a new pulley, or compressor, etc?

Without hearing it I would FIRST replace the belt.

There is a simple test that you can do:

Purchase an aerosol spray can of BELT DRESSING at any Wal-Mart or auto parts store. As soon as you hear the belt squeeling spray the belt with the belt dressing and see if your squeeling goes away. If it DOES, Replace the belt.
