Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: reattachment of Rear Defog connector, negative battery cable, steel wool pad

Question
The connector that attaches to the rear window, enabling voltage to go through the rear defog was pulled off accidentally. What is the best way to reattach? Auto repair shops refer me to glass shops...Glass shops refer me to body repair shops, who in turn to refer back to auto repair shops. Can this be soldered using silver solder?  Will it get to hot? Or can I use a dielectric glue of some sort and would the local auto parts store carry the right stuff? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Scott

Answer
1. DISCONNECT the battery NEGTIVE cable at the battery.

2. Clean the area using a fine steel wool pad.

3. Use ONLY enough heat to flow the solder.

4. Use a solder that contains 3% silver and a ROSIN flux
  paste.

5. Reattach the NEGATIVE battery cable.
