Question -
My a/c works fine, but only comes out the defrost. No matter where you set the therm. It comes out the defrost. When you first kick it on you can hear the blower door open the close again. What do I need to do to get the air to come out the dash? I have looked for a disconnected spring, but see nothing. Please help.
Answer -
The vents are controlled either by a vacuum valve or an electric solenoid of which is controlled by the A/C-Heater PROGRAMMER.

This will require some expert knowledge and test procedures to determine the EXACT cause.

If there has been ANY type of work on ANYTHING on the vehicle, I need to know, As problems that arise shortly AFTER a repair was made may be a simple loose wire or vacuum connection that was accidently disconnected or damaged during the other repair.

Answer
Check on the engine for the vacuum line that is attached to the intake and goes thru the firewall to the PROGRAMMER. If this vacuum line is damaged, cut or restricted this defrost air is the DEFAULT position for NO VACUUM TO THE PROGRAMMER.

It is also possible that a wire or vacuum line was disturbed upon the radio installation.
