Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: AC/Heater Problems, chevy lumina, manual lever

Question
I have a 1997 Chevy Lumina.  I started having problems w/my a/c earlier this summer. It would blow out cool air intermittently, but you can hear the blower blowing but no air comes out the vents. I had my a/c recharged w/freon.  Now I am trying to use my heater. I let it be on for 30 minutes. You can still hear the blower, but no air comes out at all now. It doesn't matter what setting I have it on (low, high) or (floor, defrost, or normal).
I am not sure what else I can do short of taking it in.

Answer
If your control panel for A/C-heat has a MANUAL lever that you have to slide back and forth, the cable from this lever to the DAMPER DOOR may be broken, Loose or became disconnected.

Crawl up under the dash on the passengers side and look for the cable moving as you move the lever back and forth on the control panel.
