Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: no heat when switch from air to heat, vacuum line, olds toronado

Question
i have a 1985 olds toronado and when i try to go from air condition to heat the heat does not blow through,it still comes out cool and we changed the valve behind the instument panel account it had a hissing sound and that stopped it.need some heat,what can i do? the heat to air switch is the tempermatic slide type.eveything worked before we put a replacement motor in it.

Answer
Go back to the area of where you worked and see if you broke a small vacuum line or accidently knocked loose the cable wire from the COLD-HOT slide control on the dash panel to the DAMPER DOOR located behind the glove box.
At this valve you replaced: When you have the controls set for HEAT you should have NO vacuum on the small vacuum line attached to this new valve.

let me know.
