I just replaced the heater fan resistor and plug.  The problem was the heat only worked on high.  For two days after I replaced these, the heater worked great.  Now, the same problem is back and i dont know why.  I checked the wiring and connection and they looked alright.  If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks Mike

Did you remove the resistor and inspect it for internal damage ?.

The most common cause is a faulty blower motor that is drawing to much electrical current thru the resistor thus destroying it.

There are also other possibilities, But replacing the blower motor is the most common .

Thanks for the reply.  Yes I did check for damage after I replaced the resistor and there was no damage, but the old one was nasty and rusty.  I will check the blower motor next.  Could you tell me where it is under the hood?  and how much do they usualy cost?
Thanks again, much appreciated
Mike

Answer
It is usually under the hood near the antenna mounting.

If not there look under the dash on the passengers side.

Cost is about $15 to $45.

Installation is simple with about 5 screws and time of about 15 minutes.

SOME BLOWER MOTORS come WITH the plastic fan and SOME do NOT. Make sure you open the new motor box and be sure there is a new fan there. If NOT, you will have to reuse your old one and all you have to do is remove one 10mm nut to replace it.

Did you TEST your BLOWER RESISTOR to be sure it is OK ?. Even a NEW one can be faulty.

There is also a possibility that the switch within the A/C-Heater control panel is faulty and this needs to be tested and possibly replaced.

Let me know.
