Question
What year from a a Ford Explorer,(front clip) fit on a 97' Ford Mercury Mountaineer.Or do you know where to find the front for a 97' mountaineer?

Answer
Hi Allyn!....I did some checking for you in a couple different areas, and found out that the first generation Mercury Mountaineer and Ford Explorer, are virtually identical in regards to sheet metal. First generation refers to both vehicles built between 1977-2001. The doors, fenders, hood and front bumper cover are interchangeable, as they have the exact same Ford part numbers. The difference between the 2 models, is exterior trim packages, interior trim packages, mouldings, badges, etc.

That being said, you shouldn't have a problem finding a replacement front clip.

The link I have listed below, is for the Keystone/Cross Canada website here. Once on the site, click "Order on line", then punch in "Guest Login" for Alberta. From there, you will just need to enter the year, make and model of your vehicle. It will then show all available parts, prices, descriptions, etc.

Hope this helps you out. Thanks for your question....Dave... Here is the link:
