Answer
Hi Joey!....You can start with the same grit on the plastic as well as the metal panels...180 grit is a good starting point...Keep the sander as flat as possible, only angling it a few degrees as to achieve a smooth featheredge transition to the next layer...1/2" circumference between layers should give you a good result...If by after this step, gouges in the plastic and metal need to be repaired, you can fill them with the propper plastic and metal fillers...Sand them with 180 as well...Contine sanding with the next grit, not more than 100 grit from the last...For example, starting with 180, do not sand with anything more abraisive than 280...Then graduate to 400 for the final sand...Now you can apply the primer as required...After this step, simply sand the primer with 400 again...Paint is the next step...Any more questions or concerns, please write me back...Glad to be able to help out...Thanks....Dave
