Auto body repair & detailing: 2011 rav4 rear driver side door damage, power locks, car body
2011ToyotaRav4
Hi,
We were on vacation and got in a small accident with a rancher truck that carries calfs.  We were both reversing very slowly in a narrow street in and although we stopped he didn't and he crashed into our rear side passenger door.  The door looks pretty bad, but the window and locks still work.  There is very slight denting on the car body, were it meets the door on the right side around the door.  The guy didn't have insurance, and we didn't make a police report or anything.  We drove it home, which thinking about it now was probably not a good idea but we didn't have much choice.  Do you think there could of been any structural damage to the car from this type of impact and how much do you think it will cost to replace the door and fix the minor damage to the body of the car?
Thanks,
Lucy

Answer
Hello Lucy
If the window regulator and power locks are functioning and the door opens and closes, then there is no damage to the structure of any consequence. The door, on the other hand, needs to be replaced.
I don't know where you are located, so I couldn't be sure of the price in your area. In my area that type of repair will cost between 25 and 3000.00 dollars, the door itself costs 900.00 dollars.
Hope this helps
Dan
