Auto body repair & detailing: Trim attachment, buick roadmaster, 1993 buick roadmaster

Question
I own a 1993 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon that I damaged the left front fender. I have ordered a replacement fender, but the new fender did not come with trim posts attached to the fender. My vehicle has the vinyl wood grain, with metal trim to cover the edge. This metal trim is held to the fender with plastic clips, the plastic clips attach to the fender on the metal posts that appear to be a part of the fender, But as I said the new fenders don't come with these posts. What suggestion would you have for this concern?

Answer
VERY GOOD QUESTION.....I BELIEVE THAT YOU NEED THESE REPLACEMENT CLIPS.
I AM UNSURE OF THE EXACT PROCEDURE TO INSTALL.

SOUNDS LIKE THE CLIPS THAT HAVE TO HAVE A HOLE TO FIT IN AND THE CLIP
ATTACHES TO IT..THEN THE MOLDING RETAINERS GO INSIDE THE TRIM PIECE AND
THE MOLDING THEN CLIPS TO CLIPS.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU STOP BY A BODY SHOP AND HAVE THEM SEE WHAT
YOU MEAN TO GIVE YOU A CLEARER ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM.
