Question
hi im 19 years old, an graduated from high school. i didnt really know who to ask about this, but i was wondering how you would go about being an automotive painter. i am very good at drawing and painting, and good with my hands. i love cars a lot, and i think if i combine these two it would be a good career for me. but i dont know where i would get experience or training. i have never even held a spray gun. any advise would be much appreciated.

THE BEST ADVISE THAT I CAN GIVE YOU IS TO ASK FOR A PAINTERS HELPER POSITION AT A BODY SHOP.
THE HEAD PAINTER HAS THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE TO SHOW HOW IT IT DONE.

TAKE THE GOOD AND THROW OUT THE BAD AND BECOME YOUR OWN PAINTER.
IT TAKES SOME TIME TO LEARN THE TRADE...YOU WILL MOST LIKELY GRASP THE BASICS QUICKLY BUT
BECOMING A GOOD PAINTER IS DEFINED AS HOW YOU FIX THE MISTAKES.

AFTER YOU GET A BASIC IDEA OF HOW TO PAINT AND PRIME...PRACTICE

YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER PURCHASING AN AIRBRUSH KIT AND USING YOUR DRAWING TALENT BY APPLYING
THAT TO PAINTING. YOU MUST FIRST LEAN HOW TO TAPE AND SAND AND PREP.
