Auto body repair & detailing: Drivers Side Door Handle replacement for 2000 Toyota Sienna, sienna mini van, auto place

Question
Mr. Forster,
I have broken the driver's side door handle to my 2000 Toyota Sienna Mini-van. I have found the part and I'm about to order it from a online auto place. My problem is that the part is not painted. Should I bring the part to a collision center and ask them to paint and install it.
Thanks in advance.
Randall

Answer
Randall, I would suggest you have a body shop order, paint, and install the part. They are much more likely to get the correct handle than you are. You may have a hard time getting a shop to agree to refinish and install a part they didn't sell- especially if it's an aftermarket part (Non-Toyota, I.E a China knock off)
