Auto body repair & detailing: painting topper, bedliner, paint over bedliner

Question
Hello Gary,
I finally was able to spray  my topper w Rhino/bed liner as you suggested. I mixed 3oz tint as recommended with kit with each coat  as suggested  giving it two coats . It turned out good EXCEPT the tint did not cover some of the primer spots. Can I spray a base coat w/ clear over the rhino coat to cover or what do you suggest rec .
1st QUESTION: Hello Gary appreciate the feedback .I like to try the "hippo" product. now i need to decide on a color. Would you think it would be too much if i went with the same blue as the body or accent with a black? also do you need to clear coat? once i decide on the color i would like to spray on ..would you recommend the "schultz gun" R & E offers? thank you for your help !! Answer
Hi Doug,

I have sprayed base-coat/clear-coat over Hippo Bed liner with good results. I did it the following day after I sprayed the Hippo. I'm not real sure about how long you can wait and still topcoat over hippo without scuffing though. My educated guess would be if the Hippo has cured over 2 weeks I would try to scuff it just a bit with a 3m gray scotch-brite pad. Or you might even spray a coat of the Bulldog Adhesion Spray. It's designed to promote paint adhesion to all types of surfaces. R&E carries it. Here's a link: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd-bulldog_adhesion_promoter.cfm I hope this helps.
