Auto body repair & detailing: Car Door, cherokee jeep, free estimates

Question
I have a 1993 Cherokee Jeep and the driver door happens to be broken. The
door when it is open comes right of the hinges. And it is hard to close back
since I can not put it back the way it was originally. Is there a way I can fix this?

Answer
Hi Maria,

I assume you mean that the door drops down once it is opened and when you try to shut it you have to lift up on the door to get it to close. If this is the case, you probably need to take it to a body shop and have them put in some hinge pins and bushings and do some minor adjustments. Unless, you've done a repair like this before it's not really a good idea for a Do-It-Yourselfer to try and tackle. Most body shops give free estimates, take it to one and just ask what it would cost to fix it. It probably won't cost too awful much. Good luck!
