Auto body repair & detailing: Repair Clear Coat, step direction, perfect sunday

Question
This past Sunday I sprayed Clear Coat on my freshly panted 67 mustang. Though Saturday was perfect, Sunday was windy so many particles got into the clear coat, some down to the paint. How do I fix? Do I sand with 1000/1500 grit until all particles are our and then re-clear coat?? This is my first restore and do not expect it to be a show car but would like it to look nice. Please give me step by step direction if possible.

Answer
Hi Richard,

Depending on how bad it is you may be able to just wet sand with 1500 grit and then polish with a rubbing compound and final glaze. If that doesn't work or if it's too bad you can wet sand with 1000 grit and then re-clear coat. If you have lots of trash I would recommend re-clearing.
