Auto body repair & detailing: Paint Overspray Removal, horizontal surfaces, rocker panel

Question
I recently brought my new 2008 BMW in to have a long scratch on the rocker panel repaired.  In the process of repairing the scratch I find that all of the horizontal surfaces were oversprayed.  It is titanium metalic.  Can you tell me the correct process to be used to correct this problem and can the finish be restored to its original new condition?

Answer
Take it back to the body shop and have them remove the overspray. It's an easy thing to do, and it won't harm the finish in any way to remove it. Several methods can be employed to remove it, I won't take the time to list them since you won't be doing the removal. Bill
