Auto body repair & detailing: Underbody rust repair options, jeep cherokee sport, jeep cherokee

Question
Hi, I just bought a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport and it has some significant rust on the under body. The floor boards underneath the driver's side has already been replaced by the previous owner via a road sign. However, the rest of the floor boards, while not in dire need of attention, should be fixed somewhat. Would an undercoating seal up what rust there is? Or should I replace the floor boards? And with what? If I could, I would do it myself but I have no access to welding tools, etc. So to get to the point, what would you recommend?

Answer
This jeep is in an advanced stage of decay. Nothing will stop the spread of rust except panel replacement, which sounds beyond your scope. Drive her untill she dies, or be prepared to spend thousands of dollars this vehicle is not worth to fix it. Bill
