The driver's window on my chevy Tahoe only goes down about 5 inches then stops.  How do I remove the door panel to diagnose the problem?

Remove the bezel around the inside handle, there are 3 hidden tabs that need depressed with a flat blade screwdriver. remove the 2 screws in the armrest pad, then pry the clips loose from the body. Start by inserting a stiff putty knife between the panel and the door, at the bottom of the door. It will sound like the whole world is breaking when the clips release, but it's normal. Your power lock actuator rivets have broken, and the actuator is blocking the window's ablity to travel downward. Remove it, grind out the old rivets, rivet or bolt it back in, and you should be fine. Bill
